Privacy policy

Last updated October 27, 2026

PlateGarden is a garden planning app in development, run by Dan Belair. This policy explains what we collect on plategarden.app and through the tools we use to run PlateGarden's own social media accounts, why we collect it, and how to have it deleted.

The waitlist

When you join the waitlist we collect your email address and the time you signed up, and use them only to send PlateGarden launch news and early-access updates. Joining does not create an account. Your signup is stored with our hosting provider, Supabase. A short-lived, hashed network identifier helps us limit abuse of the signup form.

This website

The site is hosted by Vercel. We measure page visits and signup outcomes to understand how the site is used; we do not send your email address to website analytics. Vercel keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run and protect the site.

Our social media accounts

PlateGarden runs its own accounts on Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. We use private tools, operated only by PlateGarden, that connect to those accounts through each platform's official API.

  • Pinterest. Our Pinterest app creates Pins on PlateGarden's own Pinterest account and boards, and reads the totals for our own Pins (such as impressions, saves and outbound clicks). It does not read other people's Pins, boards or profiles, and never posts to anyone else's account.
  • Account statistics. We read follower counts and per-post totals (such as views and likes) for PlateGarden's own Facebook Page, Instagram account and YouTube channel. These are totals and do not identify anyone.
  • Comments on our own posts. We read public comments on PlateGarden's own Facebook, Instagram and YouTube posts: the comment text, the commenter's public name or username and account ID, and when it was posted. We use them to answer questions and decide what to make next. Our tools do not reply to, like, hide or delete comments.
  • Retention. Our copy of comments is refreshed regularly. Anything no longer refreshed is deleted within 30 days, and comments deleted on the platform are removed from our copy at the next refresh.

Each platform's own policy applies to your use of it: Pinterest Privacy Policy, Meta Privacy Policy, YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Access keys for these tools are stored encrypted on PlateGarden's own computer.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share the waitlist or comments for another company's marketing. Our hosting providers process only what is needed to run the service.

Your choices and deleting your data

To see what we hold about you, ask for it to be deleted, or stop updates, email hello@plategarden.app. Use the address you signed up with, or for comments include your Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram or YouTube name, so we can find it. We delete social media data within 7 days and everything else within 30 days, and confirm by email. Deleting our copy does not remove a comment from the platform; you can delete it there.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
